This register supports the website page **About Muradnagar**. Facts dated before 8 July 2026 generally describe the former, undivided 22-union Muradnagar Upazila. They must not be presented as current totals for either the newly formed Bangra Upazila or the remaining Muradnagar Upazila.

The gazette transferred Sreekail, Akubpur, Andikot, Purbadhair East, Purbadhair West, Bangra East, Bangra West, Chapitala, Ramchandrapur North, and Tanki to Bangra Upazila. The remaining twelve-union Muradnagar list on the page is the complement of those ten unions against the former official list of twenty-two.

### Discrepancies

- **Area:** BBS reports 340.73 km²; the main upazila portal reports 340.93 km²; another portal map page reports 339.00 km². The website uses the BBS figure.
- **2011 population:** BBS reports 523,556 enumerated residents; the old portal labels 579,733 as the 2011 population. The website uses BBS.
- **2022 population:** the BBS district report records 582,950 people and 131,575 households. The BBS Statistical Yearbook table records 582,934 people and 131,578 households. The page uses the district report and records the difference here.
- **Density:** approximately 1,711 people/km² is calculated from 582,950 ÷ 340.73. It is a pre-split calculation, not a published current density.
- No official post-split area, population, household, literacy, or density publication was found for Bangra or the remaining Muradnagar.

These sources support the former name Tholla, police-station formation in 1858, renaming in 1878, upazila status in 1983, the association with Mir Murad Ali, anti-British and peasant movements, and Liberation War encounters at Pantibazar and Chapitala.

Sreekail College’s establishment appears as 1941 in the official tourism/biographical material and 1942 in the Muradnagar Banglapedia profile. The website avoids displaying a disputed year.
